Devious Journal EntryThought I'd post an update here about what I've been working on recently.I took the plunge and finally made miniature bettas for my miniature ponds/containers:They'll be debuted at Tampa Comic Con (August 1-3) in clear glass cups. I believe I'll only have 10 on me, so if anything happens to make it through the weekend, they'll be put on Etsy.I have more WIP pictures of my preparations for Comic Con on Tumblr and Instagram. If you're not following me there yet, you should since I've been more active there than here lately.
More UpdatesThe bettas are moving along and the resin has been poured! In a few hours I'll get to see the finished product, and hopefully get some pictures taken to show you all here. For now, have some teaser images:Yes, the bowls do have real plants and I absolutely love how they look in them. Maybe I'll start experimenting with real plants more in the future.
Heads UpEdit: And now I have all the animals, rocks, and plants in!On schedule for Monday! Just need to finish a few more ponds so I can do a batch of resin today. Wanted to drop a quick note here that I am working on an Altoids tin specifically for eBay. It's going to be my test run so to speak. It will be a full-size Altoids tin, like the one I posted. It will include two koi fish, a turtle, and a frog, plus plants and stones.I'll have another update when I'm about to post it. I'm just finishing the fish for it now, and it'll be another couple days for it to cure. I'm hoping to have it ready to list on Monday if everything goes well.
Finished RecordingHi everyone!I finished recording and editing my Q&A video! It was a little late when I was recording so I had to keep my voice down, I hope I didn't sound too weird. lolAnyways, enjoy!( I'm having major problems submitting this journal and getting people to see this in their notification center!!! Please let me know if you see a notification of this journal or not. I've reported this bug to DA but nothing is fixed! )
A dream come true!!!Hey guys!!!I'm so thrilled to finally be able to share this awesomeness with you!!! The THING is:I had the HUGE honour to be commissioned a while ago, to make one of my little fennecs as a present for an important Disney director Byron Howard from his partner, in celebration of his upcoming film Zootopia!!!! If someone doesn't know him, Byron Howard is best known for directing Bolt and Tangled and for being involved in other films as Lilo & Stitch, Brother Bear and Mulan.Being a big Disney fan since I can remember, and knowing that a Disney's bigshot is the owner of one of my works and that he loves it, is like a dream come true for me!!!! I couldn't ever imagine this will happen, when someday, I started making dolls just for fun.Just a
UpdatesIf you're following me on Instagram/Tumblr, you might know my website launch...didn't happen. There's a big issue where it won't remove one of a kind items from my shop after they're purchased, so that's delaying my launch until further notice. It sucks because everything else is ready to go. >.<Haven't posted them here, but I've been working on some new items: dice holders! I know, I know - everyone is making dragon dice holders. But they're fun and give me something else to do aside from making fish and foods. Here are my two newest ones (that I am super proud of!):I'll be making some more tomorrow in order to replenish my stock from MetroCon/Tampa Bay Comic Con, so make sure to follow me on tumblr/Instagram to see them!
All About BJD Wigs (Video)Over the two years on DA, a lot of questions I received were about the BJD wigs I have for my dolls, so I decided to make a video about them to answer those questions. Most of them are about what companies I bought the wigs from and what styles they were.I was very excited to work on this video actually because I'm so obsessed with BJD wigs myself. I think having a good wig on your doll is so important just a having a nice face up.Please enjoy!
Devious Journal EntryI just wanted to say thank you to everyone who visited my table at MetroCon to say hi or purchase a piece. I didn't expect to do so well and I'm totally blown away.I originally started with this many ponds (plus 4 Altoids containers and 5 leftover containers from SuperCon):and came home with just this:You guys are the reason I’m able to do what I love for a living, and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to convey just how completely and utterly grateful I am.My next show is Tampa Bay Comic Con in two weeks. Hopefully I'll get to meet some more of you there!
BJD Wig Styling Tutorial (Video)Yay I made it!Here's a tutorial on how to style fur wigs on your dolls for those who might like some tips, or are simply curious about how I personally style the wigs.

Why I crossplayIt's the male to female crossplays that usually get stranger looks from the crowd. I understand why and I'm actually fine with it.I've been asked quite a lot in my years of cosplaying why I like to dress up as a girl at times. I was never able to give a definite answer back then. I suppose it was because I wasn't aware of why I did such a thing. One reason would be that sometimes, I really just like the character's design. It's a hobby of mine to create things, and being able to materialize something I love makes me happy. However now I believe I found the core reason of why I do it. Lately I've been delving deeper into doing more complicated costumes such as Capt. Jack Sparrow. In doing those, I realised that it's all about the transformation. Being a costume enthusiast ever since I was little, I've always found a certain joy in being able to turn myself into all sorts of characters. This carried over into my adulthood and I wanted to challenge myself even more. There's so much prepa
Pro BJD Artists!I have not been very vocal about this simply because the debate irritates me, but I did take part in the Pro BJD Artists day today, by posting a few photos on flickr:I support legit BJDs and the artists behind them. Be it a company or a single artist, recasts hurt them all the same. Recasts rob them of their livelihood and passion to create new dolls. Without their creativity we would not have new dolls and the hobby wouldn't be what it is today. Please do not support illegal copies that destroy the artists and the community. By supporting the original artists we support the future of the hobby. There is so much variety in size, shape, colour and price of legit BJDs that there is not a single reason to buy a recast. There is something for everyone, at every price point. Anyone saying otherwise is making excuses. So, before considering a recast, please consider the feelings of the artists who created these dolls and give your support to them instead. Without them we wouldn't have dolls
